Pickering Tournament
Round Robin
The Jags started off against Port Perry Angels in Friday nights action. The Jags put up a number of runners on base, but were unable to capitalize and get a run in across the plate. Final score 1 - 0 in a game that seemed like the ladies were still getting to know their new team members and work some of the bugs out.
Saturday morning at noon saw the Jags pitted against the Ching Cougars Bantam team. This was a hard fought contest with the Jags coming out on top 1 - 0. The Jags hold a lot of respect for two members of this team and had an opportunity to talk with Paula Mackin and Natalie Wideman, both who had joined the Jags in their Nationals run in Surrey this past summer.
Based on their earlier win the Jags advanced in the tournament to play Ching 88. The Jags played aggressive ball and took the lead early and did not look back. Strong defense and good offense saw the Jags dominate most of the play. The team finished the game with a 4 - 0 win.
The Jags took on the Markham Tigers in their fourth game of the tournament. The Jags got off to a great start putting up 10 runs on the board by the end of the first inning. Again strong offense and great defense came into play. The Jags would eventually take the game 14 - 0.
